This is a last minute reminder but if you're brave enough to fight the weather and leave home tonight, head down to C'est What. Marking it's 19th birthday, the bar is celebrating with performances by Royal Wood, Emm Gryner, Danny Michel and more.

Although now without its extra room, C'est What remains one of Toronto's more important music venues. Throughout the years, it has hosted rising stars like Jeff Buckley, Sarah Slean, Sarah Harmer, Ron Sexsmith, Rufus Wainwright and Jewel (likely while she was still living in a van).

blogTO is skeptical of C'est What's food and service, but there is no arguing that it has one of the best beer selections in the city. So grab a beer (I suggest the St. Ambroise apricot wheat) and indulge in the Safe Sex chocolate pudding. The show starts at 10 and admission is free.

I hate C'est What and refuse to go there. The manager is an ass and their idea of customer service, especially if you're in a group of more than four, is terrible. Last year, they completely ruined a friend's b-day party with their ridiculous policies by making us wait around and then failing to give us a table. I don't care what they're serving or how good the beer list is -- there are plenty of other restaurants in the city where you will get far better service. C'est What's dubious charms ain't worth being treated like crap.

Contrast such poor attitude with Hot House across the street. Different atmosphere, but you can make reservations (gasp!) and the staff are completely accommodating.
