1980's Music Video Archive

Last week you may have seen flashbacks of Toronto's past in the 1980's video by the Spoons posted to the Spacing wire. Browsing the Toronto music and nightlife forums over at Tribe I found this link to a massive 1980's music video archive at 1500videos.com.

I'm a little disappointed by the absence of the classic by Toronto-based artist Maestro Fresh Wes, but I guess I can let it slide "..y''all! I don't give a damn. Let your backbone quiver!"

(thanks to vveerrgg for posting the link!)

I was wondering if you might remember a video from the 1980's or early 90s that had a woman in her apartment and then a giant gloved (white) hand appears. She is visibly scared and runs from her apartment and into a local bar.

I hand continues to follow her - but she isn't afraid anymore and starts dancing with the hand.

I believe it was a one hit wonder - but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the song or who sung it. Please help!!!!

I was trying to see if anyone would remember the name of an 80's dance song that had lyrics that mentioned, "you're my obsession, or you're the object of my desire" It was a great song to dance to, I want to purchase it, but don't the name of the song or the group. It is not the song by Animation, "My Obsession." Any clues, I would greatly appreciate it.

In response to M.Colledge's request, the song is called "Object of My Desire" by Dana Rayne. I hope that's the song you are looking for.

Does anyone know the 1980's song where the music video only featured shoes moving to the beat? I'm so stuck and I want to get a hold of that song desperately. Thanks to anyone that can help.

i vaguely remember an 80's video that features a girl looking at a comic book which she enters and the video changes from real life to comic book type cartoon. I remember the end shows the guy trying to break out of the comic "box" to join the girl in real life. Anybody remember something like this? I know I loved the song, just wish I could remember what it was...

Hi,
Can anybody tell me the name of the band and song featured in an 80's video. The video featured the band (with a keyboard) playing at night in a forest. There were many cool closeups of owls, badgers, centipedes, etc. Thanks!

This is for Farrell from last summer....
If youre still there the song is still hanging around in 1986. I cant find the video on you tube but I think its the one your wanting. Nu Shooz - "point of no return" had shoes dancing by themselves....I think....like I say the vid has been taken down but the song is still there at :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n205XdtNnYg

There were dancing shoes in a Cars video as well. I think that was since youre gone.... just looked that one up too its at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YculqGstxlc
The shoes are only moving toward the end of the video.
strange how that stuff sticks in my head better than high school algebra!

Trying to find info on a band I met while working in a bar in 1980. Band's name was AVENUE ROAD (the original one) and some of the guys were under age for the bar at the time but they were real good. Wondering what happened to them.

I grew up in the 1980’s and to this day my favorite music is from this decade. Some of my favorite bands are New Order, The Smiths, and The Cure. They say the music you will remember the most is what you listened to between the ages of 9-19. This holds true for me as I was 9 in 1980 and 19 in 1990.

Hey everyone - hope someone can help me with the name of the band AND song that I have been thinking of - all I have in my memory is a video of a guitarist (maybe bassist) straddling railroad tracks and while playing. He sported a mullet, short rolled-up sleeves, and I think the video was black and white. He seemed to be stretching to reach the guitar's neck and strings, as if his arms were too short! Would love to see this again. THANKS for any help you can provide!
