Hip-Hop's Jurassic 5 goes Back to the Future Tonight

Those wanting to listen to bling-free hip-hop and kick off the Canada Day weekend right can do both by checking out the G2 concert featuring Jurassic 5 tonight (June 30) at the Kool Haus.

The Los Angeles-based retro-rap crew - MCs Chali 2na, Zaakir (Soup), Akil and Marc 7 and DJs Cut Chemist and Nu-Mark - remember when the music was just about having fun and "kick it old school" without coming across as corny.

And with the airwaves dominated by the likes of thugged-out types such as 50 Cent and his ilk, Jurassic 5 represents the proverbial breath of fresh air. Check them out.
