moviesTO #33: The Notorious Ellen Page

Canada's got a new "it" girl, and it's Halifax native Ellen Page, who has supposedly been acting for a really long time but is only getting notice now due to the power-whammy double-team effect of Hard Candy (which is excellent) and X-Men: The Last Stand (which is not).
Today's podcast includes:
* Review of Hard Candy
* Review of X-Men: The Last Stand, a.k.a. X3
* Summary look at the first two X-movies, a.k.a. the ones that didn't suck
* News about Cinematheque and Female Eye

Awesome podcast this week. Glad to know I wasn't the only person that thought Brett Ratner massacred the previously-awesome X-Men franchise with his latest installment. Hard Candy, despite being a bit unsettling at times, was quite a well-crafted film, and Page truly showed her acting chops in that movie opposite Patrick Wilson.
Thanks Sameer! And based on X3's precipitous dropoff in box office on Saturday, it looks like we weren't the only ones who thought Ratner messed up a good thing.
how do i get her number or email address cuz ive fallen in love with her in x men3 n cant stop thinking about her since
Uhhh... seriously? I don't think her agent - or any agent, for anyone, ever - would actually be interested in fielding romantic interests. Try finding an Ellen Page lookalike on Lavalife or something.
I live in Halifax also. I think Ellen did an amazing job in Hard Candy! You might also want to catch her in Mouth to Mouth which is available for rent at Blockbuster.
i hope somone kills that bitch.
Hard candy was the dumbest movie. and i hope somone takes a gun and shuvs it in ur cunt and pulls the trigger.
