"NOBODY DARES TO COMPETE WITH US", says a bold statement in the front window. Located on the Danforth, that's a bit hard to believe - still, they're often busy up to 5am on weekends and 4am during the week. Some people go here exclusively for their Greek fries - they place saran wrap on a plastic tray and fill it with fries dabbed in olive oil, feta cheese and oregano. Although tasty, it's pretty poor presentation. Also over the last few years they've gotten skimpy on the portions. Gyro pitas range from $5 - $7.

OMG. I cannot believe this terrible place made the list! My wife and I haphazardly stopped by this place for some food, its reputation was unbeknown to both of us. The place was terribly dirty. Did not look like it had been cleaned in years. The cook had just finished a cigarette and walked inside, started preparing my salad without washing his hands.(I didn't eat the salad!) The food was bland and terribly uninspired. Ridiculously greasy and grisly.Overcooked. Probably the worst souvlaki I have eaten in a long time. Mall Greek food much better! In addition, the food was overpriced! I am shocked that the readership of this site voted for this monstrosity. Shame on the readers of Blog T.O.!
Welcome to authentic Greek gyro then. If a cigarette bothers you dont ever go to Greece. If you think mall Greek food is good then you are a idiot.
I have been to Greece you douche..g. I guess my mall food analogy was too complicated for you to understand. By saying mall greek food is better, I was expressing just how fowl the food is at this place. If mall food is better, than this place just blows. The souvlaki I had in Greece was juicy and nicely spiced. Not rubbery, bland, and greasy. Btw, when people make food with their hands I rather they be clean. Call me crazy!
I don't know if David's right about the souvlaki or not - I've only ordered the pork gyros here, and it's so incredibly delicious I never go through with ordering anything else.
The chicken gyros here are rotted. they were burned to crisp. thats not gyros.
David, I am with you on this one. Very Very VERY dirty, I stopped going there long time ago. Mouse traps everywhere, everything is dirty over there! tables, knifes, forks! YAK! I get pissed when i see something like that, especially when i am hungry.
If you would like a great gyro, head east about 10 mins to Square Boys. There you will get a gyro twice the size for half the price. If you would like a dry, unsatisfying gyro you should check out Alexandros!
This place is still opened? Oh my!!
I lived in Toronto a few years back, I had the gyro once it was bad. I went back a few months later to give them the benefit of the doubt and it was still horrible, I actually threw it out. I hate throwing food out and I'll usually finish my meal even if I'm not enjoying it but this was bad. And I'm Greek, I have been to Greece plenty of times and I've had good gyro in a bunch of places in Montreal but this was just bad.
