Amy Pataki gave this restaurant a bad review (Toronto Star). Once more proves that she knows nothing about food or anything about REAL Italian food and not the crap they serve at East Side Marios to appeal to her trashy suburban tastes.
This restaurant is excellent, unpretentious, delicious, well priced and fun. Great food and a fun place for a date. I recommend the Osso Bucco highly.
...you forgot rude! As in...this restaurant has got some rude waiters that have total disregard for pedestrians walking by the restaurant. They serve patrons from the public sidewalk as if they own it. This is totally illegal, it is not part of the restaurant patio.
It's acutally only illegal to serve alcohol on a non-licensed sidewalk. That being said, I've never had anything but great service at 7 Numbers & I've been more than 20 times. It's not Splendido, nor they pretend that it is. If you're nice to them they more than go out of their way to return the kindness. Imagine that, lol. The food's great too!
Went with my family, we did the prix fixe thing... it was terrible. The only good app was the calimari, the salads were all weird. The pastas taste like broiled chef boyardi and the mains were mediocre. We didnt even stay for desert (we went to Pan (EXCELLENT)) and I was sick from food poisoning the next night. DONT GO HERE!!! very disappointed, especially having been to and LOVED GioRanna's!
Nice comment Kevin: "the salads were all weird"! As in...they had ingredients that you weren't familiar with? Hardly a reason NOT to go to a restaurant. I've said it before and I'll say it again - LOVE this place. Go a couple of times a month and the servers are all amazing, as is the food!
The food here is garbage!!! How can this place make the top Italian resto is beyond me! Was there for dinner on July 15th. The apps and mains were horrible. Cold and bland. The dessert was the only saving grace. I havent tried the Eglinton location, supposedly that one is better. First impressions I wont be going back thats for sure. HORRIBLE!!!!
7 Numbers is the best Italian in the city - the staff are nice, down-to-earth, and go out-of-the-way to make sure you have a good time. If you don't like the weird salads or atmosphere, you should go back to The Olive Garden. The only disappointment here are the new rolls - what's with the tiny bread? Bring back the big rolls! We eat Italian b/c of the carbs!

Some of you people are complete morons. 7 Numbers has delicious, homemade, unpretentious italian food and to boot, its not expensive whatsoever! I am pretty positive they didnt serve you cold food nor do I think that bland is in their vocabulary. As for the "weird" salads, you are simply ridiculous to discriminate against a restaurants because you are too stupid to recognize basic Italian ingredients. I have been there about 10 times and never got anything but excellent service, perhaps you were rude and deserved the crappy service you received.. hmm. All in all, 7 Numbers is a great, casual, inexpensive place to enjoy good homecooking without the work.
Good food and very affordable. No reservations required. At night dark and good vibe, close to your fellow diners but not so much that it is uncomfortable. Had the pasta special - lingiune with spicy shrimp, very tasty and $9.50. I will be back
I have been here a few times and enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the food. The dishes are small but tasty, and the cooking feels authentic. Looking forward to a return trip.
