One Million Comix on Yonge is deceptively deep. The store is broken into three well organized sections, one for anime, one for toys and figurines (with a massive display case) and one for comics. The new issues sections is really well stocked and televisions in the front and back room somehow brighten the sometimes gloomy quiet of comic shops.

One Million Comix is my comic/manga shop of choice, if there's a back issue or figure I want to order, Konstantine (sp?) will order it in within a week or two.
They have a larger selection of manga than most stores in Toronto including Silver Snail, and they always sell manga at US cover price (not "buy 3 to get US Cover price" like at Animextreme).
The great thing about 1000000 comix is that they do Comics and Manga well. The only geek things they don't do well is RPGs (I go to 401 games at Yonge and Gerrard or The Comic Warehouse in Brampton) and video games.
They give you a free bag and board and their comics are arranged well. Silver Snail is arranged pretty well too, but they don't give you free bag and board. And I mean, fuck, it's a comic store, little touches keep people coming back.
They also always have sales and the people are nice.
LOL! DBAG ACCESSORIES!
Great comic place :)
This is the comic shop for non-comic readers who only read superheroes. The family that runs it are douches, with no taste. They don't order what they don't like. I guess it's good if you read Marvel or manga. Hell, they don't even stock a lot of DC superhero stuff. They have a lot of stock of the same book, but not much range.
This place has back issues that are totally overpriced. I expected more and there were no sale comics to sift through which is something I expect from every good comic book store. Good selection of new issues and busts, but the back issues were so overpriced and so limited in selection it was close to a waste of time.
How much do you pay for your comics at this place. Do they have "Simpsons comics" there.
Unrealistic back issues pricing, poor condition of said comics. Avoid this store if possible there are much better out there. If you think the advantage of a free board is worth spending $50 on a first print of Dark Knight Returns #4(which is worth no more than $12 at other stores in superior condition) then enjoy your 5 cent board and bag. It is people who shop at this store which are truly killing this business and allow places like OMC to charge such shitty prices, give yourselves a pat on the back and enjoy wasting money.
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE this comic shop!
The guys are great and helpful! I never shop anywhere else if I can help it!
The brothers Alex, Paul & Kostas will go the extra mile for their customers. I really appreciate their excellent customer service and knowledge of all things comic/manga oriented.
1000000 Comixs is #1 on my list!
Honestly, the selection of comics in here is pretty much just Marvel-DC stuff and some manga. Most of what you find here can be found elsewhere. Their back issue collection is nothing special. Chances are if you come here looking for some really key issue of, say, Marvel's Master of Kung Fu, you won't find it here. I don't have a problem with the family here, they're generally nice enough people, even if they cater to an increasingly limited comic audience.
But the best thing about this store is the anime. They stock many of the main titles, and a few that are out of print as well. Their prices are competitive with every other anime seller in the city, and it's the main reason why you should get membership here. It's about the ONLY reason I still come here. So if you want anime, this is one of the best places to go to. The only problem is that some of the popular titles sell out frequently and you don't see reorders for another month or two. Older anime is also not in stock.
this store is mixed. I like the family and they have a great selection of current superhero books from the big two but little else outside of the above mentioned manga and figurine offerings. Their back issues are fairly limited and way overpriced. I stopped buying back issues from them looong ago even though i go every week for my "pulls". They are good about ordering stuff...
Kodo and Podo for mayor!!!
WORST COMIC SHOP IN TORONTO!!! I was very disappointed with One Million Comix. The comic shop's prices are high for a comic store. You won't find any bargains like $1.00 comics or less for back issues in this place. I found the customer service to be snobby, pretentious, and unhelpful. There were no smiling faces from the staff and they did not care to talk to anyone except for a few regular customers. When I found a comic I wanted to buy I was ignored for ten minutes by the cashier. He was too busy flirting with another regular customer who obsessed about getting an issue of Captain America. In fact it was the flirtatious Captain America customer that brought me to the attention of the neglectful cashier. Before serving me though the cashier helped out another regular customer that dropped in who he knew by name to pick up boxes. Does it really take that long to sell one comic book that he had to leave me at the bottom of his priorities?
This store has a nice layout a good selection of new comics, at decent prices, however their back issue prices are ridiculous, and no bargain section....really now.
Garreth, you shouldn't have to take that crap! I find that to be such despicable customer service! The least they can do is acknowledge you first and say something like "excuse me for a moment...." at the very least. If I were you I would've taken the chance to just walk out without paying for the comic since the stupid staff members found you invisible anyways! That'll teach em something about their bad customer service.
I've been reading the last couple of comments and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who have had a bad experience there. Let me state for the record that I have no problem with Alex and his brothers or staffers like Brian (straight up cool guy). Please tell me if this has ever happened to anyone else. I was skimming through the new issues off the rack, when this black guy (in t-shirt couple sizes too small) comes over and tells me "you can't read here". First off, I was only skimming through the comic. I don't know who he is, but he has a bad attitude. I've been a regular customer for a couple of years now and I've been treated like that. With service like that I'm taking my business to Silver or Beguiling. Like I said I don't have an issue with the rest of the guys, just this meatball. Has anyone else received this kind of treatment? Just curious.
