Pippins Tea Company

Pippins Tea Company is located on Queen St. East in the Beaches . The store gives off a cottage feel, with wood flooring, antique furniture, and the soothing smell of brewing tea. The shop has been around for about 8 years, and serves as the perfect tea and "chuchka" gift shop. While the store boasts a substantial tea selection, they also sell an assortment of tea paraphernalia and charming household items.

Some of my favourites include the adorable printed aprons, themed calendars, or tea-inspired wall clocks. The teapots and tea tables are also sensational, with 87 teapots alone (the owner tells me she tends to count them from time to time). Importing her inventory from all over Europe and China, she offers teapots in glass, porcelain, fine bone china, pottery, and ceramic. She imports some of her teas as well.

When it comes down to trying the tea, I have up to 150 flavours to choose from the selection of white, black, green, and herbal teas. She recommends I test the "Roobois Brittle," and already, I'm intrigued. Infused with hazelnut, almond, walnut, and candied fruit, it's the perfect blend for fall.

The to-go cups come in one size (16 ounces) and sell for two dollars. Loose-leaf tea starts at about $4.50 for 50 grams, but prices may vary based on the quality of tea.
