College Fruit Market

College Fruit MarketBe sure to eat your fruits and veg before heading out for a Little Italy bender. Fresh produce under crisp awnings and lots of faithful locals.

Are you serious? I can smell the rotten produce from this store a mile away. The onions look like they've been there since the Berlin Wall was intact. How does it being dirt cheap qualify it to be number two? I bet you'd get better quality produce in the bins at Dominion's - and it's free! Make that number one.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with FS: the produce is hit or miss at this shop. Sometimes there are great deals to be had and actually fresh produce, but not having real any competition in Little Italy these days is not good for quality. So much of their wares sits out and goes bad (or is bought from the Ontario Food Terminal's second-rate category in the first place). Not fresh-obsessed.

I walked in there the other day and picked up some awesome fruit and veg. Very, very clean. Not sure about the previous two comments maybe its under new management. Good and I mean really good fresh herbs, olive oils, tomatotoes etc. I will shop here from queen street west because there's nothing close to me in the area which is a shame.
