Flickr Forum: June 6th, 2008 - Square
So apparently "square" was a bad idea for a theme due of the large number of photos with tags for Dundas Square or some other Toronto "square" in the city. Luckily we've got so many great Toronto photographers contributing to the blogTO Flickr pool that it never takes long to find enough great photos to feature.

Click through for links to larger photos and the artists, and for next week's theme.

The next theme is "sky", and as always, is open to creative interpretation. We're looking forward to featuring some of your images again, on June 6th.

To be considered for next week's selections:
- In Flickr, add the tag "SKY"
- Add to the blogTO Flickr pool
- If you have a photo already in the pool, and you would like it to be considered, remove the photo from the pool and re-add it. Only photos added in the past week will be considered.

Thank you for including my photo - #8, 'square'. I guess I should have come up with a cleverer name, like 'square for squares'. That sign is on my street, a little cul-de-sac in Cabbagetown. Luckily no one pays attention to it!

Just my 2 cents as someone who regularly submits to Torontoist's photo-pool, I prefer seeing weekly themes more to suited to issues and topics affecting Torontonians than those otherwise generic in nature.

I'd like to see more "Toronto-themed" themes as well. Like:* transit (OK, we've already had that one, but still...)* public spaces* parks* nightlife* the arts* city creatures (animals you usually see in the city...)* tourist in the city (tourist attractions)* great eats (food photography, menus, restaurant fronts)* farmer's marketsYou get the idea...PS. I love checking out the new photos each week. This is such a great idea - just trying to help make it even better. :)

@M. D'Amico & Angie McKaig: Thanks for the suggestions! We are a Toronto focused blog, so your comments make a great deal of sense. I'll see what I can do to think up some themes with a bit more of a Toronto focused for the next few weeks. Thanks again for the feedback!

I'll second the suggestions, though from experience extremely broad topics tend to bring about a wide range of creative interpretations.Anyways, I claim #3, the "Framed reminder." Rushing out of St. Andrew station one day, this one caught my eye simply because the friendly "Please hold handrail" sign that greets every subway escalator rider was not the usual recessed-into-the-wall text most of us are used to.Or maybe I just need to get out more often.

Hi - I tried to add a couple of pictures over the weekend to the Pool and they were there for a bit but now I can't find them at all. They were my first posts to a flickr pool so I don't know if I goofed something up or not. I would hope that if that was the case, I'd at least be told why they were removed? Too small? too big? I dunno... any help would be appreciated. I couldn't think of wherelse to ask. Thanks
