Flickr Forum: June 13th, 2008 - Sky

The blogTO Flickr Forum is a weekly sampling of themed photographs taken by Torontonians and aims to not only feature the talent they possess, but also spur dialogue and reveal the stories behind the images.

Today's collection of Toronto photographs is made up of responses to our call for photos that fit the theme "SKY". These images were all recently submitted to the blogTO Flickr pool.

To the photographers: we'd love to hear about your photos. A little info on where it was taken and the story behind the photo is always a great start.

To the rest of you, feel free to ask questions to the artists, submit photos to the blogTO Flickr pool for next week's consideration, or just sit back and enjoy our weekly mosaic.

The next theme is "LUMINATO", based on a suggestion by sniderscion, and numerous others two are asking for more Toronto focused themes. We're looking forward to featuring some of your images again, on June 20th.

To be considered for next week's selections:
- In Flickr, add the tag "LUMINATO"
- Add to the blogTO Flickr pool
- If you have a photo already in the pool, and you would like it to be considered, remove the photo from the pool and re-add it. Only photos added in the past week will be considered.

Hey thanks for the feature, Mike. I took about fifty shots that night as the light show outside the window was too wild to ignore. where i'm living right now, i've only got a backyard window over a stove, so i just pressed the camera against the window frame and held still while firing off some long exposures. "live wire" is my absolute favourite of the night because it comes closer than any of my other shots to showing how powerful the storm was. going to miss this window when i move this month and a tree blocks my view. ;)

Night Prowler i shot from polson street at the docks parking lot. the lighting was mostly heat lighting and danced all over the sky. i did miss inbetween shots the best one's where it spidered from the cn tower to the bank of montreal.

Lifeguard - took well walking my dog at the beach. Hdr really brought the shot to life.

Next time you wake up early in the morning, brush your teeth, attend to nature's calls, shower, exercise, have breakfast, and try to beat the rush... stop for just one minute, look outside, take a deep breath and appreciate the beautiful city that we are so lucky to live in, it might just make your day a little better.
