The blogTO Flickr Forum is a weekly sampling of themed photographs taken by Torontonians and aims to not only feature the talent they possess, but also spur dialogue and reveal the stories behind the images.

Today's collection of Toronto photographs is made up of responses to our call for photos that fit the theme "PORTRAIT". These images were all recently submitted to the blogTO Flickr pool.

To the photographers: we'd love to hear about your photos. A little info on where it was taken and the story behind the photo is always a great start.

To the rest of you, feel free to ask questions to the artists, submit photos to the blogTO Flickr pool for next week's consideration, or just sit back and enjoy our weekly mosaic.

Continue for links to larger versions, and to check out the next theme.

I also really liked this shot by imarcano.

With a looming transit strike, how about "TRANSIT" as a theme. We're looking for TTC shots, strike shots, stuck in rush hour shots and every possible creative interpretation you can think of. They keep telling us the TTC it's worth a million, show us what do you think!

We're looking forward to featuring some of your images again, on April 25th.

To be considered for next week's selections:
- In Flickr, add the tag "TRANSIT"
- Add to the blogTO Flickr pool
- If you have a photo already in the pool, and you would like it to be considered, remove the photo from the pool and re-add it. Only photos added in the past week will be considered.

If you have a theme suggestion, feel free to leave a comment.

So many of these are so great that it's pretty much impossible for me to even narrow it down to a handful of favourites.

Awesome collection/participation this week, everyone!

As the photographer for the photograph titled "O", I'm really honoured to have been selected again. That's two weeks in a row! It feels awesome to be picked along side so many other amazing artists and their submissions.

The shot was taken last weekend at a party. The person in the photo is a friend of a friend. It was taken by pre-focusing the camera to a spot where I hoped the O would be. The shot was then taken in the dark with a fill flash to highlight and isolate the face & smoke.

Thank you for selecting my "Danielle In The Distillery District" shot among the other fantastic photographs. This was taken under harsh sunlight with my Mamiya TLR (film)lucky that Danielle has such good skin that I could get away with it.

Thanks for selecting my photo "Pauline"! It was taken on the UofT campus in the Robarts library cafeteria. She was studying at the time, as I should have been too.
I'm honored to have been selected out of thousands of portraits, and to have my work displayed alongside many other excellent photographers!

My photo was titled "love the hat"! This man was a wonderful character, met him on the street one day and we chatted for a bit about photography as well as his awesome hat. And being in such amazing company - the other portraits are incredible! - is high praise indeed. Thanks, guys.

Thanks for including my photos of Ronley (top right) and Ana (bottom left) for this week's portrait theme. Both were taken in Kensington Market where I like to hangout with folks who are pretty casual and comfortable. Ana is a photographer and anti-poverty activist who has done a series of photos of people living on the streets of this city. Ronley Teper is an inventive, creative, singer/songwiter who performs with wit and humour and top notch accompaniment too! (On April 24 she's at the Cameron House City Roots festival and the Tranzac Club May 13)

Many thanks for the inclusion of my photo "CR Barbie" in this week?s Flickr Forum. This is a pic from a group of photos I am playing around with as a concept series centered on Barbie dolls and modern life. Nothing too deep, just a bit of experimental work in the realm of strangeness.

Why I love my Barbie??.

1) Barbie is clean, always patient and never judges me.
2) Although a bit stoic at times, Barbie always has a smile for me.
3) Barbie never complains regardless of all the sick and twisted things that I compel her to endure.
4) Barbie never feels the need to sign up on Ashley Madison in order to betray our love.
5) My Barbie NEVER asks for the credit cards for a shopping spree.
6) Barbie dumped that asshat Ken and rebuffed the attention of G.I. Joe in order to be with me.

May all have an enjoyable weekend.

hey man! Thanks for the feature!!
my picture (for luscious big hair) was taken one afternoon when I saw my sister reading those pointless celebrity tabloids. As soon as I saw her then, I yelled "don't MOVE one inch" and voil?.
The other one was taken in the street, after I went to her citizenship ceremony, midtown Toronto. Around st clair station and as you can see there it was snowing.
Glad to be a part of this. Thanks!
