Flickr Forum: March 7th, 2008 - Music

The blogTO Flickr Forum is a weekly sampling of themed photographs taken by Torontonians and aims to not only feature the talent they possess, but also spur dialogue and reveal the stories behind the images.

Today's collection of Toronto photographs is made up of responses to our call for photos that fit the theme "MUSIC". These images were all recently submitted to the blogTO Flickr pool.

To the photographers: we'd love to hear about your photos. A little info on where it was taken and the story behind the photo is always a great start.

To the rest of you, feel free to ask questions to the artists, submit photos to the blogTO Flickr pool for next week's consideration, or just sit back and enjoy our weekly mosaic.

The next theme is "VANISHING POINT", and as always, is open to creative interpretation. We're looking forward to featuring some of your images again, on March 14th.

To be considered for next week's selections:
- In Flickr, add the tag "Vanishing Point"
- Add to the blogTO Flickr pool
- If you have a photo already in the pool, and you would like it to be considered, remove the photo from the pool and re-add it. Only photos added in the past week will be considered.

Thanks for the inclusion of my photo! Definitely a nice suprise.

My photo is from when I went out to Club Rio in Markham (formerly known as Viva Nightclub). The DJ playing there that night was Jon O'bir (http://www.jonobir.com/). This was my first time back since the club got renamed which really made me remember all the good times I had there when I wasn't old enough to go to 19+ clubs.

Thank you so much for adding my photo, it's funny because I submitted this without knowing that your theme was music. This was taken last November at the Steam Whistle Brewery - the event is called Unsigned. The Carps, a duo from Scarborough wowed the audience not only with superb playing but they also added to the element of performance by including the audience... they gave away tambourines and sparklers. I was amazed at how great the picture came out, I had a few too much to drink at the event (hey it's the Steam Whistle!). This one is still a fave.

9. David Blair

Thank you for including my photo of singer/songwriter David Blair (http://www.myspace.com/davidblairsongs). This photo was taken last Monday, March 3rd at C'est What during his performance with another singer/songwriter Sara Westbrook (www.sarawestbrook.com). I was there to watch a relative of a friend perform. But since I always have a camera with me, I thought it would be a good time to try live music photography for the first time.
