The blogTO Flickr Forum is a weekly sampling of themed photographs taken by Torontonians and aims to not only feature the talent they possess, but also spur dialogue and reveal the stories behind the images.

Today's collection of Toronto photographs is made up of responses to our call for photos that fit the theme "BLUE". These images were all recently submitted to the blogTO Flickr pool.

To the photographers: we'd love to hear about your photos. A little info on where it was taken and the story behind the photo is always a great start.

To the rest of you, feel free to ask questions to the artists, submit photos to the blogTO Flickr pool for next week's consideration, or just sit back and enjoy our weekly mosaic.

Continue for links to larger versions, and to check out the next theme.

The next theme is "FAMILY", and as always, is open to creative interpretation. We're looking forward to featuring some of your images again, on February 16th.

To be considered for next week's selections:
- In Flickr, add the tag "family"
- Add to the blogTO Flickr pool
- If you have a photo already in the pool, and you would like it to be considered, remove the photo from the pool and re-add it. Only photos added in the past week will be considered.

If you have a theme suggestion, feel free to leave a comment.

This mosaic of blue-centric images looks amazing as a whole. All it's missing is a photo of a pouting Smurf ;)

nice collection of blue !

as for adding a story to my shot - hmm... no real story about it - just was taking some post storm shots in the west end / high park / humber area and this one was just begged to be snapped (or would that be caught!). it's attached to a condo sales office, ironically formally a marine supply warehouse. i wonder what's going to happen to this giant starfish once construction starts... sort of like, what ever became of the vintage 60's clock on the lakeshore motel strip.

Hi, thanks for featuring my photo that I snapped out the streetcar window!!! I take the Queen St. streetcar to work and the day after Toronto's 2nd huge snowstorm I took my Canon Rebel XTi to work with me, hoping I'd get something worthwhile to use on my flickr account (www.flickr.com/bonnieshulman). I'd always loved passing by Trinity Bellwoods Park, it's such a lovely view out the window, and it was just a case of knowing the shot I wanted from having passed it so many times, having a window seat, not caring what other people thought, and snapping away. I then photoshopped in some extra blue to give my friends in Europe some idea of how cold it feels in Toronto these days!

I am very pleased that blogTO featured my photo of the Nathan Phillips Square skating rink. This shot was quite impromptu as I was focusing (pardon the pun) on the Nights of Fire Production. I was surprised at how the motion of the people painted blue streaks across the frame. It was taken handheld with my Rebel XTi and the EF-S 17-55 IS lens, image stabilization saved the day (er.. night) again.

I'm really pleased to see my shot included there amongst the other striking shots.

Mine is the lamp with some icicles and a tree branch.

There's a small park a minutes walk from my apartment and it's a handy location for some nice post-snow pictures. This afternoon the late afternoon light was glorious and even though I was battling a cold I had to head out, and was very happy with what I captured.

Cheers, P!

Thanks for including my Bluenose shot! These things lurk outside one of the misnamed "shelters" (actually they serve to intensify and redirect the wind towards anyone hapless enough to stand inside them)along the Viva bus route in Vaughan. I've been puzzling over them for a while and that day suddenly saw the noses. :)
