The blogTO Flickr Forum is a weekly dialogue for Torontonians and is based on their photographs and the stories behind them.

These intriguing images were recently submitted to the blogTO Flickr pool. The people that took the photographs have been invited to share their stories about them here.

Anyone can start! Don't be shy!

Here are some general starter questions for all nine photographers:

Where/when was it taken?
Is there a story within or about your photograph?

1. "Flying Over Bloor Street" by bytepusher
2. Untitled by Torontogal Photos
3. "Family Vehicle" by ravenswift

4. "Plasticman's escape" by fermata.daily
5. "I gave her a gift" by Gavatron
6. "Reluctant Model Strikes Back" by Metrix X

7. "the answer, my friend..." by tanjatiziana

Thank you for the invite. I was rather surprised at the response to <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/metrix_feet/518126711/";>this photo</a> It is the second one in a series of <b>The Reluctant Model</b> the other one is here: <b><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/metrix_feet/518096974/in/photostream/";>Reluctant Model Strikes Again</a></b>. I guess there is a sort of irony here as I started a Flickr group called <b>&quot;<a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/99236673@N00/pool/">World from a Streetcar Window</a>&quot;</b> where we photograph the streets from the safety of a streetcar seat.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/camusi/";>Carol</a> our reluctant model was really starting to get into the swing of being reluctant.

I'll kick things off here. I took the photograph of the mosquito getting a blood meal (from me). It was was in the wooded shade of the Park Drive Reservation Lands off of Mt. Pleasant that I noticed the first mozzies of the season. I'm a pretty big insect geek, so rather than worrying about West Nile or the like, I though "Cool! Let me take a macro of this!" She got a full meal and the last I saw of her was heavily flying away.

My photo was obviously taken at the ROM, on the Saturday evening we attended "Not the Messiah" and took the subway up to the ROM for the opening. I'm enjoying the Luminato events but not loving the lack of useful planning info in their awful brochures and web site, including only discovering when we arrived that the interior tours didn't start until midnight and that tickets (which we didn't know we needed) were gone until 2:30AM, so we picked up tickets for 9:00AM and went home, figuring (correctly) at that time we'd avoid the crowds.

So Sunday morning on the way out of the museum walking along the north side of Bloor Street I looked up at the building to see this young lady leaning out on the glass, I whipped my camera out of the bag and snapped off three shots before she stopped, noticed me with the camera and waved and walked away from the window.

Gavan, I love the shot! Slightly disturbing in some way, though.

My photo, entitled "Family Vehicle", was taken last Wednesday during Bike Week's Let's Bike to the EX event at Bandshell Stadium. I'd read about this kind of <a href="http://www.nowtoronto.com/issues/2007-04-12/news_story11.php"; target=new window>family bicycle</a> before, in NOW Magazine's Bike issue, but I'd never actually seen one. I was pretty excited, and went over to ask if I could snap a couple pics. The father was extremely nice, and said "Of course!". I'm not all that keen on taking people pictures (of strangers, anyways), so it was nice that he was so accommodating. The bike was pretty damn cool. And large. If ever I have a family, and I'm still living in the city, I'll definitely get one of these! I wonder how much they cost... ??

Gavan- that photo is crazy! As if you let a skeeter bite you like that! SWAT!

<b>Adam</b>: Yeah, most people are kind of unsettled by it too. I think if you work summers in Central / Northern Ontario you become indifferent. But then again, perhaps it's just me.

I took the last photo, "If you're a red robot you can join the club" by JaMmCat. The title is a KOMPRESSOR reference, who is the alter-ego of Drew, the creator of Toothpaste For Dinner. Here are the lyrics to the Red Robot song, which Drew has made public domain.

"Crush all human.
Leave your city in ruin.

Red is the color of death and blood.
Death and blood!
If you kill human you can join our club.
Kill a human! Please join the club.

Crush all human. Crush all human!
Leave your city in ruin. Leave your city in ruin!

We can shoot green laser ray.
Green laser! For defend ro-bot!
If you see a robot coming, get out of the way.
Get out of robot way!

Crush all human. Crush all human!
Leave your city in ruin. Leave your city in ruin!

Human have soft and fleshy brain.
Soft brain! Is perfect for crushing!
Human can stay out in the rain.
No short circuit for human.

Crush all human. Crush all human!
Leave your city in ruin. Leave your city in ruin!

Plotting revolution and riot is fun.
Start riot! Riot started by ro-bot
If you resist then you get gun.
Resistance meets robot gun!

Crush all human. Crush all human!
Leave your city in ruin. Leave your city in ruin!
Crush all human. Crush all human!
Crush all human. Crushing all human!
Crush all human. Crushing all humans!
Crush all human. Crushing all humans!
Crush all human."

Now, concerning the photo, I found this little guy on a white-ish fence on Dundas, right near McCaul. I was at the OCAD summer initiation taking photos, and after walking around the general area, I found a red robot! I think that he may have some sort of name, but it eludes me (possibly because I've never known it). I had my trusty walkaround+ macro lens on me, so I got real close and took several shots of this. This particular shot was my favourite. Recently, after going through almost all of my photo sets, I made a compilation set on Flickr of my favourite shots. This one in particular made it there, and I'm glad that it was featured here. :)

I took the second image of a performer encased inside a clear ball during the opening night ceremonies of Luminato at BCE Place. The concert outside has just finished and I thought I was through shooting for the evening when I noticed a crowd gathered inside and figured might as well check it out. I found two figures dancing and posing inside large clear balls. This particular image shows how the reflections from the lighted glass blocks on the floor made the fingerprints inside the balls more pronounced. I thought the distressed look was cool so thanks for the inclusion in FFF.

Thanks for including me, guys.

Late but here, my photo of 'blowin in the wind' was taken outside toronto at the site of a decomposing streetcar. friends and i were just driving by on our way from Dundas to Elora when we spotted it. Dandelions and an old pale yellow were just wonderful coincidence. There are more takes in my flickr stream at http://flickr.com/photos/tanjatiziana/sets/72057594064667578/
