Flickr Forum: February 16th, 2007

20070216_fff.jpgThe blogTO Flickr Forum is a weekly dialogue for Torontonians and is based on their photographs and the stories behind them.

These images were recently submitted to the blogTO Flickr pool. The people that took the photographs have been invited to participate in discussions about them here. Anyone can start! Don't be shy!

Here are some general starter questions for all six photographers:

Where/when was it taken?
Is there a story within or about your photograph?

1. Queens Quay Ice by TerraS
2. News & Weather by dave_in_t_o
3. Office logo closer by Cliph
4. Love on the TTC by ariehsinger
5. hope chest by gingerbugjones
6. Love Behind Bars by PDPhotography
7. Toronto - Tuition Rally by Backpackboy
8. Student Day of Action - Toronto, Feb 7 '07 by Jon .
9. Tuition Rally BW by Backpackboy

This week I'm running with a bit of a theme, well, 3 themes. If it wasn't overly apparent: Winter, Love and Protests.

We had some amazing submissions in past week! It gets harder and harder to whittle our selections down to 6 pics, so I broke the rule and went with 9 this week.

Only after making my selections did I realize I chose two from Backpackboy, but I'm ok with that. Some great captures from the rally. I'd love to here about Backpackboy and Jon's experience at the rally, and of course, about their photos!

Thanks for being selected.
Funny, I like the b & w shots and maybe that's because my focus is always on colour.

I really like this selection, and am very happy to be picked. The I (LOVE) U behind bars is my shot.

I was getting some prints made at Pikto at the Distillery and decided to grab some shots while I waited. This was on a window of the abandoned building opposite the entry to the Distillery.

The dusty letters and the bars I found really arresting.

As for the shots also selected, I really like the photojournalism in some of them, and the different, wintry viewpoints in the others.

Cheers, Patrick

Thanks for selecting my photo as part of this Friday's Forum.

The Student Day of Action was the first time I've ever attended a demonstration. It was really incredible to be part of that environment and to witness it through the lens. Amazing time.

Nice set of images here. Thanks for including my two from the Day of Action rally last week.

I hadn't actually heard about the event beforehand, but ran into a few students carrying their signs and ended up following them to the rally. These pictures are from the bit that happened on campus before everybody moved to Queen's Park.

The rally was exciting, and it was great to see so many people out and clearly feeling passionate. I also found it interesting talking to the (much smaller) group of anti-rally activists and hearing their views about the event.

Hello

I can't be bothered with anything these days, but shrug. I just don't have anything to say recently.

G'night
