Toronto below video

Swoon over a towering Toronto in new helicopter video

We've seen some gorgeous videos of Toronto over the years, but none, I suspect, quite like this most recent effort from Ryan Emond. If you've ever wondered what the opening credits for a big budget TV show unabashedly set in this city would look like, now you'll have an idea.

Hovering above the city at 350 metres in a helicopter, Emond assembles footage that paints a picture of Toronto that looks both bold and imposing, but also beautiful. The fluidity of the camera movements gives this sequence something that you just don't get with drone-based videos, which is perhaps why it looks so big budget.

You might remember some of Emond's previous love letters to this city in the form of Toronto Tempo, Planet Toronto, and Toronto Skyline Porn, but here we see the photographer reaching new heights -- literally. This video is titled Toronto Below for obvious reasons, but I just keep thinking how well it pairs with the idea of Views from the 6. You'll see why when you hit play.

Are you paying attention, Drake?
