Open Roof Films Toronto 2011

Open Roof Films returns to Toronto for a 2nd year

Open Roof Films is back in Toronto for a second season — but this time with a new name. Perhaps in a nod to the extra emphasis music will be getting this year, the series will now be referred to as the Open Roof Festival.

Like last summer, events will take place in the parking lot of the Amsterdam Brewery. "Doors" will open at 7:30pm every Thursday with a performance from a local band prior to the film screening post-sunset. If last year is any indication, there will be Amsterdam Beer and tasty popcorn available throughout the evening. Given where I live, the location is almost too close to bother biking to, but since there will be a free bicycle valet service, I just might have to.

So far only the first seven weeks have been programmed, but the festival will run until September 1st. As it stands, the current lineup looks pretty good. Here's what's on deck so far.

The Open Roof Festival will run every Thursday night, from June 16th to September 1st at the Amsterdam Brewery. For tickets, call 647.857.0748.
