One of the films I am most looking forward to for the second half of the year, Shekhar Kapur's sequel to his 1998 masterwork Elizabeth, is receiving its gala premiere at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival. The Golden Age was officially announced today for this year's gala slate, after a week of intriguing whispers.

Trailervision!:

Cate Blanchett reprises the role that put her on the map as the best actress of her generation, joined by Clive Owen in a new role as Sir Walter Raleigh. I'm thrilled to bits that we'll get to see the flick a minute or two before the rest of the world.

Passes for TIFF go on sale on Monday, July 9.

I'm super excited about this too ... although I hope it's not too "feely inspirational" as the trailer makes it out to be.

I'm going to be first in line for this one. I really am. Also, full review of the TIFF website launch and the start of TIFF season next week, promise. =)
