In Memoriam Event for Ryan Larkin

ryan_032707.jpgThe NFB will be holding a special tribute event dedicated to the memory of late flmmaker Ryan Larkin (who passed away earlier this year) on: Tuesday April 3, 6:30 PM at the NFB Mediatheque (150 John Street).

There will be a reception followed by film screenings and tributes from colleagues and friends. Admission is free, but seating is limited.

It was a sad sad day when Larkin passed away. I can't make it for this tribute event, sadly, but I send my regards in honor of this amazing Canadian filmmaker.

There are a few ties to TO. The NFB has a location in TO. AFAIK Larkin's bio film (Ryan) had its CG done in TO, (Seneca@York). And that film's maker lives in TO (Saw Landreth on Roncesvalles one day). I may be wrong but wasn't Larkin's early NFB work done in TO?

There is a memorial taking place in Montreal as well on April 18th at 6:30 at the Cinematheque Quebecois.
