Starting this Tuesday at dusk, Dundas Square will do a weekly summer run of creature features. How cool is that?

All the classics will be shown, kicking off with the Creature from the Black Lagoon (first 300 people get those hep glasses) followed by The Birds, Jaws, Alien, Tremors (classic Bacon!) and Jurassic Park. I am praying to Jebus they're not showing the remakes of the following: The Blob, King Kong, Godzilla and Planet of the Apes, but who knows.

Admission is free and parental guidance is strongly recommended for those of you under 14 (or a blanket to cover your eyes with if you're squeamish over the sight of blood and various brain goop). These fine horror flicks run till Aug. 29. Odd that this is sponsored by Smart cars and not Rue Morgue, though. Maybe Godzilla learned to be fuel-efficient?

They're going to be using Dundas Square for film? Good to see public space being used for the public, finally.

Can't make it this Tuesday (Superman Returns is opening) but I will definitely be stopping by for The Birds.

It's a bit vague on the time... sunset... so like 9-10ish?

I'd say around 9ish. I guess it's almost like drive-in theatres where you'd have to wait till dusk before it'd make sense to show it on the screeen.
