Shoot Em Up On Ossington

mar2505_shootemup.jpgLast night Ossington between Queen and Argyle (just south of the Sparrow) was bustling. The reason? A local film shoot for something called Shoot 'Em Up (maybe this) which was described to me by someone on the set as simply "a gay love story".

The crew was short on details. What I do know is that this is supposed to take place somewhere in the US - hence the US Postal Service sticker on the mailbox and the neon Guns sign in the window- and that the production has created a temporary pawn shop called the Center Street Bargain House for the shoot.

It's a movie with Clive Owen about Secret Service agents or something, and although I'v read it has a couple of wrestlers in it, I don't think its a "gay love story".

There has been a lot of buzz about this one. Supposedly the script contains the most ridiculous amount of gunplay we have ever scene on film.

It is indeed the IMDB-cited "Shoot Em Up," but it's definitely NOT a "gay love story" as someone was told (perhaps as a joke).

I actually had dinner at The Sparrow last night with my partner and the whole south end of Ossington was lit-up in an earie daytime-like fashion.
