Maybe the store wouldn't stock those tasteless American Strawberries if your compadres would stop buying them.]]>

Sigh. Even though good local strawberries are available, the stores are still selling those awful American ones.]]>

This is a great website and thanks so much for mentioning our Strawberries and Baco Noir event at Henry of Pelham!

Chef Mark Walpole (then at the Prince of Wales Hotel) first turned us onto Strawberries and pepper with Baco Noir. Think of it as Niagara take on the tequila shot: instead of salt/tequila/lemon, because you roll the strawberry in freshly ground black pepper, it goes pepper/strawberry/Baco Noir. I call it a Short Hills Baco Shooter (the best Baco Noir in the world is grown in the Short Hills Bench).

It's delicious. Like a tequila shooter it's an acquired taste for the first one but give it a couple of tries and you'll be hooked like the rest of us Baco-maniacs!
