i balanced stones at qew beach for more than a decade and now mainly master Trevor balances there. Currently i balance in the annex in the kensington market and on queen st. w. in the fashion district at various locations and as the force guides me. We aim to provide an astonishing connection to nature experience with these ceremonial installations. Thank you for pitching in with donations Toronto. May all beings benefit.]]>

Yes, Canadian Passport, but those are more so stacked rocks than balanced, intended to stand the test of time as a landmark. The photo here doesn't do justice to the most impressive I've seen, which often have irregularly placed stones put together.]]>

"rock balancing" ?

How about 'Inukchuk'? Or even the more anglicized 'Inukshuk'

Ian, they're stable in the sense that they'll probably hold up to most wind, but they are delicately balanced and a bump from a person will definitely knock them down.

You generally wouldn't need to worry about them spontaneously collapsing if you wanted to take a closer look... just don't touch.]]>

Very cool.

Out of curiousity, are those things stable or is it wise to keep a respectable distance in case they come tumbling down?]]>

Actually, I saw a guy rock balancing on Bloor @ Brunswick (right outside of Future Bakery) last week. I guess it is the season. :-)]]>
