I have tried eating at a pizzeria in Toronto named Frank's Pizza house. Frank’s Pizza House is an Italian based restaurant that offers both dine in,take-out and pizza delivery service. The wide varieties of Italian dishes on their menu sure will make you drool. The pizza i bought was delicious! I even tried the calzone and i would say it was the the best calzone i have ever eaten. The restaurant is nice, cozy and clean. Perfect hospitably.

I have a friend living in Toronto and i recommended this pizzeria to him. He tried using delivery and he was happy and very satisfied with the service. The pizza he ordered is still fresh and hot and they were on time. Plus, no charges for delivery!

So for all you pizza lovers in Toronto, have Frank’s Pizza House deliver authentic Italian pizza right to your door or even just dine inside their Italian concept pizzeria.

There's been one kicking around in my mind for a few weeks now. I only went there once and that was way back on the G20 weekend. I couldn't even remember the name of it anymore until I walked down the street on G Maps just now....Golden Pizza! They are at Broadview N of Cosburn (even labelled on GMaps). They serve pizza but also steak, chicken..u name it...all made fresh while u wait. All I can say is it was old school killer, great crust, taste, toppings and not greasy. I am finally going back there maybe tomorrow and can't wait. I hope it lives up to my amazing memories of it! Anyone else like this place?

This is the WORST pizza roundup ever for ranking Magic Oven at number 2. As the only one that I have tried, this review misses the mark so widely as to cause me to want to avoid the other places listed. Their crusts are frozen, their topppings are lazily applied, and they burn their pizzas half of the time.

"The best pizza has all the non-negotiables in one; a fresh crust..." again.... Magic Oven uses frozen crusts...

Pizza Lovers Unite! Do you remember when pizza was made with a nice thick crust and cheese where you can see it! Are you old enough to remember when you had toppings on your pizza that were sliced and not cut into little squares. for me there are 2 types of pizza. authentic italian, that you would find in Naples and the greasy, 3am after the bar pizza loaded with toppings and cheese.

you have to seperate the 2 because they achieve different things. for the authentic pizza i like queen margharita, il gatto negro and the standard. for the greasy pizza it has to be The Big Slice or Massimos.

Peter's Cajun Creole is fantastic and a fave for years. Around 2 years ago I moved back into the riverdale area and one of my first missions was to head down to queen and parliament for that sweet and spicy slice, but when I got there it was closed... I coulda sworn I saw it opened just a few days before. So I did the sad sack (think the good grief Charlie brown a la "arrested Development") walk up the street and there it was... The new location just north of Gerrard. It's good is what I'm sayin'.

Good to see Peter's Cajun Creole getting a shout-out in these comments, they are very overlooked over there on Parliament beside the old Mr. Tasty (or maybe it's still there, haven't been by in years).

Peter's Cajun Creole offers a great tasting pizza.

Definitely Massimo's is a favourite as well.

I have to recommend two neighbourhood favourites.

Mangi e Bevi on King East near Parliament has a thin crust delight. I always order the margherita and have never been disappointed.

Paganelli's on Front just east of Jarvis has a soft thin crust that you cut with scissors. Truly delicious.

I have also enjoyed the pizza at Mercatto, although find it hit or miss.

I have a question: have your reviewers actually eat in those places? and have they ever tasted pizzas in let s say London, Moscow or New York? or for example had some nice pizza in Rome? the reason I am asking is that I just had dinner at Terroni. It is OK pizza. I would say the pizza they sell at Longos is much tastier. In my humble opinion, Terroni is extremely overrated place with overpriced pizzas and bad customer service.

The best, hands-dow, pizza served in a restaurant in Toronto is at Paganelli's. Their secret recipe dough will knock your socks off. The ingredients they use are authentic, fresh, uncomplicated, and absolutely delicious. They recently started serving it. If more people knew about this place, there would be a line up out the door every night. They will do take out too. I highly recommend trying it. It knocks the pants of any other authentic pizza claim in the city so far. I have tried almost all of them.

Magic Oven on this list is ridiculous. Garbage. Frozen crusts, terminally inconsistent, and pizza's boundaries stretched way beyond what makes pizza pizza. Terroni is fine enough, hardly ever taken seriously for its food when it's always been an upscale knockoff of Grano. Great place to hang out, decent food, but...Danforth Pizza House is just okay. Libretto is deservedly number one. Queen M. is close, but not quite as good. BTW there's a typo right in the first few lines of the Terroni review. No one noticed?

THey used to a long time ago...

Lately they changed cheese and the slice is half as big for twice as much. The herbs that used to be fresh are gone.

In fact they don't even make a Margherita any more: it's a slice of pizza Marinara, with Oregano instead of Basil. Enough said?

If you want to have a slice that tastes like their pizza did twenty years ago... I know the place.

The current pizza list is extremely exclusionist, one might even say highly racist. Many countries in the world make their own take on pizza; it is no longer a strictly Italian thing by any standards.

The best pizza in the city is at Back Alley anyways because it is the only one cooked in a custom built wood oven that can actually do the job properly, let alone the toppings which are 100% cooked from scratch in house. And yes there is a BBQ pork (chinese style) pizza with fermented rice and hoisin sauce on it. The rice is made in house the hoisin is made in house.

Try something new for a change. No one wants to keep reading about the same places. Also, Magic Oven is one of the worst pizzas in the world.

Yes, one of the characteristics of Neapolitan pizza is being a little wet sometimes. I have eaten pizza all over the Napoli area and this is common place. Libretto is so overrated. Back in the days after reading the post about it, I rushed happily to finally taste a decent Toronto pizza but it was so disappointing. However, it is still better than Terroni and "Magic" oven, for both it's laughable that they even made it on the list. The rest I haven't tried except King Slice, which was good, but then it was still too long ago to remember... will have to try it again.

GREAT PIZZA

Buddha Pie is also a new kid on the block. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood in High Park area of Toronto, BUDDAH PIE prepares real Neapolitan thin-crust pizza with an authentic charred, blistered crust - - all from scratch using the finest ingredients.

The owners were really nice -- and the “ZEN MARGHERITA” they made me was awesome, starting with the perfect San Marzano tomatoes from Italy, farm-fresh Basil, authentic Mozzarella di Bufala (again from Italy) and dough leavened naturally. I looked for a website, but only could find http://www.facebook.com/pages/Toronto-ON/Buddha-Pie/163182829093?ref=ts

Who rated Terroni's at number 1, this is an absolute joke. Terroni's is great if your a yuppie, save yourself the time and money and go get a frozen pizza at the grocery store. If you want a good pizza in Toronto the closest place I have found is down the Q.E.W., cross the peace bridge and head to Grimaldi's in Brooklyn. Unfortunately there is only ok pizza in Toronto nothing that will blow your mind. It amazes me that a city with the biggest Italian population outside of Italy can't make a pizza right. If anyone reading this knows of any place in Toronto that puts real buffalo mozzarella on their pizza and cooks it in a coal oven or even a brick oven let me know and please someone prove me wrong and send me to a real pizza joint here in Toronto

Regina's? I am NEVER going back to Regina's. For a "friendly" 'nabe pizza joint they sure were hostile to us. We waited forever for our food and I guess I figured the food must be worth it but it was pitiful. The penne arribiata was awful. Think: Ragu sauce from a jar. With mushrooms and peppers. Weird. Wrong. And I'm sorry but any place that you have to practically beg the waiter for a spoon is just ridiculous.

wow. that was the most obnoxious list I've ever read and lets face it-- they're no prize to begin with.

Can you get any more pretentious?
And I agree it's completely subjective. The only way to pick "the best" is to try everything until you find one you really like. I know people who love Pizza-Pizza. Just because I find it gross doesn't mean I have any right to tell them they should too.

I'd go to Pappa Ceo over of shelling out for overpriced Terroni any day.

Yes, what about Pizzeria Libretto on Ossington Ave???

Opinions are subjective. I get that...but don't tell me what "real" pizza is...because it's whatever you like and whether it's thin crust or thick crust, so long as you're enjoying it.

Been to Mangia e bevi. Similar to Terroni, Ferro and Marcello's. A friend once ordered party pizzas from Regina's and I was surprised at how good it was.

this is as bit of a pointless argument, as pizza preference is a pretty subjective topic. first off, there should be a division of per-slice joints, and full-pie places, ie. sit down joints. i love a massimo's slice like crazy, but a terroni tirolese is a downright proper meal; really just two different types of experiences. i will say this though - terroni is slightly expensive because not only is it a restaurant (as opposed to a take-out place), but it's also a place people love to hang out. so you aren't just paying for a spectacular roman pie, you're also paying for the vibe of the establishment, as you would at libretto, which to me is one of the city's best.

and to JESSE: don't insult my city, uptowner. no one south of eglinton has ever heard of grazie, because there's nothing really great about it. and susur left toronto because he's an attention whore, not because toronto 'isn't a revered culinary city'. trust me, i worked for him.

I agree about Magic Oven - had it after reading many rave reviews and seeing it highly ranked in lists such as this and honestly could not understand why after trying it. It was pretty awful and, as I recall, there was something very un-pizza about it.

I'm obviously in the minority here but, to me, a terroni pizza is good, but goddamn is it thin on pretty much everything for the price! it's pizza for gods sake! it's good, don't get me wrong, but I suspect there's a cult of terroni going on here...
