Qi Sushi at Gerrard and Sackville is surprisingly good. Their combo plates are great value for the money and their mains are pretty decent. Their tempura batter is, perhaps, the lightest I've ever had. It's a gem in an otherwise sketchy neighbourhood.]]>

Tatami isn't very good, I ordered some of the "specialty" rolls, like Alaska and Dynamite and they were stone cold; premade and plated when ordered, which is unacceptable.
Double Sushi is great, it's small and friendly, the food is always consistent and fresh. ]]>

Seconding LAN Sushi - I used to live around the corner from them & went all the time. Absolutely the best customer service I've ever experienced in any sushi place ever. Just the nicest damned people. Also the sushi was pretty great. And cheap. Can't say enough good things about them.

Japan Sushi in the Annex is also great. ]]>

Well done noticing O Sushi. The food is truly the equal of places three or four times more expensive. I have only ever seen the Sushi being prepared by the chef/owner who hits way above his weight. If he doesn't get tired (or finds really excellent help), it will be our favorite for years to come. ]]>

While I love eating cheap sushi, I have to say that cheap sushi is ruining the oceans. Watch Jiro Dreams of Sushi and you will understand. The shear magnitude of the world's appetite for sushi is harming the ecosystem and there should be some reasonable limit to what people should consume. People should keep this in mind while scarfing down as much AYCE tempura and toro as they can.]]>

there are so many cheaper and better places than these littered around dundas between bay and spadina and on spadina around dundas. I'd guess, though that the writer is a UofT grad/student who just spends all their time around the annex hence the selections being so skewed in that direction. Why get someone with such a myopic uoft background to write this piece?]]>
