Who goes from the gym to stuff themselves full of carbs?

"Autogrill is a neighborhood restaurant for me" - that's because it is.

I eat there all the time. Fine the place isnt fine dinning but it is not as bad as you make it out to be. For the quality and portion of the meal you realy can't complain.]]>

I just returned from Winterlicious lunch at Autogrill and specifically went online to find out if others were as grossly disappointed as I was.

Dreadful service, our server could have cared less about us. He didn't even offer the Winterlicious menus! Food was mediocre..no presentation. Dirty cutlery. No water refill. No inquiry to coffee/teas. We would have ordered wine but weren't asked. We also would have had espresso's - not asked. My gelato 'dessert' was served in the commerical cup it came in!

Not worth the 'deal' that Winterlicious can be. Unfortunately, from such bad service and unimpressive food, I wouldn't bother returning for the regular menu.]]>

I went there tonight and funny enough orderd all 3 of the same choices as you. I was debating b/w the Magic Mushroom Risotto, the Penne Arrabiata or the Grouper...in the end I chose the Magic Mushroom because I love mushrooms and b/c they claim to use Truffle essence. I thought the appetizer was great, not spicy enough and dessert was delectable. The risotto was only OKAY. Maybe b/c I've had much better in Italy. However, definitely should give it a go. The service was excellent and my friend's plate...had one raw mussel..so they gave her a fresh new plate with double the mussels!]]>

The restaurant is fantastic.
The owners: John, Steve and Sandro are 3 of the most likeable restauranteurs in the city. Highly recommend it.]]>

Love Autogrill!

It's a perfect European Cafe, simple, tasty, friendly with neighborhood taste and feel to it. The wine list is decent and the food is good:

Try the carpaccio, risottos, saefood soups, and the rolls (spinello) which are oven baked pizza dough stuffed with whatever you ask for.

From my experience, the guys at Autogrill are happy to custom order meals and party menus, and they treat the customers well. I liiike.

Autogrill is a neighborhood restaurant for me. Used to go thier quite often for quick and so-so food on a Sunday night. Would go right from the gym...as in still in my yoga gear...its that kind of place.

Over the years...it's gone from so-so to pretty awful. Service is spotty at best. They serve you and then you never see them again. Never get my order right. Quality of things like fish and seafood is not great.

So...glad you had a good experience there...but really..this place is a local joint where families bring their kids so they can run around and order noodles with butter sauce and cheese and where the parents can get a so-so meal.

MUCH better Italian restaurants in the area....save your $$]]>

They have a whole franchise of them in Italy and many are built *on top* of the road. 'cause it's cheaper than one on each side, or they're just cool like that?

Where can I go to comment on a really crap winterlicious experience I had last week? It's my first one in many winterlicious years and I feel like I need to share, in order to spare others.

Looks delicious! I might have to try that one out.

p.s. - Tim... not sure if this is the reason why they chose the name for their particular restaurant, but likely, seeing as how it's an Italian place. Autogrill in Italian translates to roadside cafe in English.]]>

What's with the name? It makes me think the restaurant is car themed - part of the reason I never checked our their old spot at Adelaide and Charlotte.]]>
