LUVED Woodgreen F & C

Sorry to see the Woodgreen F & C restaurant permanently closed. I caught the wave of it over the past year, and made it there at least once every 2 weeks, so I know what everyone is going on about this place. Sometimes I would order an extra fish and fries for a friend or two, as a atakeout, just to see what their reaction was, which was always priceless. They just couldn't believe the quality, at such a budget price.

The old couple were also a hoot. I could see years and years of loving togetherness there. Communication by eyes and facial expression I call it. LOL

For some reason, the old lady really liked me and would always add a few extra fries to my order, all along adding a bit more salt and malt vinegar, with a perfect shake, to the sheer amazement of her aging partner, who ran the fish and chip cooking.

I too checked in on the restauant in the fall a couple times to find it closed. I am so glad to hear they have retired, and not died or fell ill. They really were pushing the limit of the working age, and are so darn sweet. No children or grandchildren to take up the challenge?

Anyways, our loss is their retirment gain. All the best to both of them.

So, what about us? Where do we go to now? Augh!!!!!!

Sadly, the closure of Woodgreen is permanent. The elderly couple that ran the place have finally retired, and it's being renovated. I lived right across the street from there about 15 years ago, and still remember them making the best fish & chips around. Sad to see them go. :(
