I have visited almost every ice cream place in the world and Summer's has the best tasting quality homemade ice cream any where on this or any planet. Over 24 years ago, Ron's mom presented me with the knock out flavour of strawberry/banana yogurt on a chocolate waffle cone and I was hooked for life. I love coming into Toronto from Misssissauga just for the Summer's experience...it's addictive and I love it!
Summer's is what a family business is all about...great service with a smile. Congrats Guys! :)]]>

the waffle cone's are exquisitely made and crafted with a degree of care and love that surpasses mere levels of awesomeness to partake in something of the surreal.

whoever make's those cones deserves some recognition. whatever the summer's people are paying him, they should double it! ]]>

I love this place. Where was the previous location? Also in Yorkville, no? When I was growing up my parents often took my sister and I to wander around Yorkville. When it came to ice cream parlor choices, there were two on rotation: Summer's, and Greg's when it was on Bloor between Bedford and Avenue Road. I still occasionally stop into Summer's and miss the old Greg's location where there was room to sit.

Ron's dad was a really nice guy.
(Or, I suppose I should say, "is" a really nice guy. As far as I know he's still alive.)

I want to go for some strawberry rhurbarb ice cream now.

P.S. These endorsements are great. The store should keep 'em for their website.]]>

Congratulations Ron and all the best. I know you will do real well because you have been working there a long time and know all the "in and outs" of the business. The fact that everything is made fresh on site does not compare with any other product. The ice cream just tastes sooo good and waffle cones are just so yummy you just can't get enough. See you soon for another scoop of that famous "Toronto Pothole". ]]>

We're from Hamilton (my self and family) and EVERY TIME we go to Toronto during the summer we make a point of stopping at Summer's. This truly is the BEST ice-cream around! We love the shop, the staff is always friendly and the product is top-notch. There is nothing else like it in the GTA or Ontario for that matter. I have even gone up to 1 hour out of my way to get some. It is simply the best, and my entire family agrees, there is nothing that compares. MMMMM .... I feel another road trip coming on.]]>

Used to live in Mississauga and always enjoyed "the best ice cream in the GTA". Whenever we visit again, from Victoria, we always make it a point to head over to Summers to try their new and "natural" flavors. Ron and his staff always super friendly and accommodating.]]>

here, here.

emily, a review of the entire experience seems much more informative than a critical look at how well the vanilla bean flakes complimented the texture of the cookie dough.]]>

Summers ice cream is AMAZING! I am totally addicted. I used to be a huge fan of the cookie dough - the yummiest cookie dough I've ever had - but then I switched over to their new flavour, Chocolate Decadence. It's chocolate and peanut butter with chocolate chunks and a caramel swirl...YUM. I'm actually thankful this place is only open in the summer, otherwise I'd probably be over 300 lbs.

Oh yeah, but they also have super delicious frozen yogurts that are apparently low fat. ]]>

Shouldn't a review of an ice cream parlour include more than a single paragraph - three slender sentences! - on the ice cream itself? The tasting session a few paragraphs above gave a perfect opportunity to tell us more about the hazelnut, the blueberry, and the cookie dough ice creams than the mere fact that they exist. Establishing the atmosphere of the restaurant is important, but a restaurant review should concentrate on the food!

This reviewer might try to actually review more than one flavour next time, and perhaps spend fewer words waxing Intro-to-Post-structuralism-style eloquent about simulated nostalgia.]]>

I can vouch for this place - I worked there one summer (no pun intended) when I was in school and that ice cream is incredible, with no cut corners.. I remember stewed rhubarb, fresh from their garden. the family that owns it are genuine and lovely. I'm glad to see such a good review of Summer's because I think they deserve it, and I'm glad to see that it is being passed down to the next generation. ]]>
