Sorry Adam, but I'm going to have to side with the negative reviews on this one: although I've enjoyed everything else I saw at After Dark very much (Mulberry Street, The Rebel and Nightmare Detective especially) I found Automaton Transfusion to be remarkably dull. The special effects were decent but effects alone don't keep my attention for 90+ minutes, and Automaton doesn't really have anything else going for it except the gore.]]>

As with the speeded up zombies of 28 Days/Weeks Later I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but a lot of fans enjoyed the screening. Here's an alternative review:

The zombie walk was great, except for the terrible movie.

Automaton Transfusion plays out every cheesy zombie cliche ever with overly-stereotypical boring characters. It's easy to believe that this movie was made solely to promote the band "Dance Floor Tragedy", since characters keep plugging it, the soundtrack is full of their awful songs, and the main hero even wears one of their shirts. Bring a barf bag, because every action scene is filmed fully zoomed up with the shakiest camera ever. The only saving grace for this film is the abrupt ending, which you'll be praying for, to end the suffering of having to watch this piece of trash. Avoid this one at all costs. You'll never get those minutes of your life back that you'll waste watching this.
