ALCOA Bakery has THE BEST baguette on this side of France. It's not your traditional thin French baguette... it is denser and quite a bit larger, but it is delicious. I have people from out of town reminding me constantly, that when I come visit, I shouldn't forget to take a half dozen. They are quite good. You should try them.
I'm not sure they are the best place for sweets, but they have great bread.

They have the best portuguese custard tarts, they are always so fresh and flaky. The breads are great as well, like the pap secos??Soo yummy. The staff is really courteous, friendly and polite. We went in and had two lattes and custard tarts for under $7, much cheaper than most places..]]>

-Marcel

You obviously haven't trekked up Bathurst street if you think the Alcoa makes the best Challa. If you want good bagels and Challa you gotta go to the Jews silly....
Come on don't be a Lamech!

The best cappucinos and lattes on the Ossington/Davenport Strip. Their breads are quite good, but their pastries are not that great. Call me a food snob but they do not use butter in their dough which results in a gummy cardboardy texture. Otherwise not a bad place.]]>
