I'm seem to always be searching for the best Phad Thai dish, or at least ones that are comparable to my already favorites but sadly i did not find it here. I personally found the phad thai a bit too heavy on the sweet side and no spice.
However overall i think that Thai Basil is a good restaurant with friendly service and nice atmosphere, and does have quality Thai food on the menu, and yes they have sticky mango rice, and very good spring rolls.]]>

can you please stop using the term "Jap," it has some very negative conotations, even though it's obvious you don't mean it that way.]]>

Red bean icecream in a Jap restaurant??? Hmm... I wonder if they learnt to make it from those hk style restaurants in the city.. there are a few good places in richmond hill that server the best red bean iced drink with vanilla ice cream... some have now come up with a new recipe that instead of red bean, they put herbal jelly.. even healthier!]]>

Oh dear, I hope this doesn't turn into the New Gen vs Sushi on Bloor debate again. We've done this one to death... hehehe. Y'all can have your mushy veggies at New Gen. I'll have my free red bean ice cream at Sushi On Bloor. Deal? ;)]]>

^ New Generation has great sushi for VERY very decent prices. But how come I never get free food on the house?!

The place is always packed though, and I would recommend it 110%. Forget Sushi on Bloor. New Gen New Gen New Gen!!]]>

Not to steal thunder from Thai cuisine, the other night We were at a Jap restaurant in the same area, called Generation, very very good. Higly recommended.. the waiters there were so nice and they kept giving us food on the house....I am talking about a full dish of grilled squid on the house! ]]>

Mmmmm, that sounds lovely. Now I'm craving Thai food, and I don't work too far away from Spadina/Bloor.

the way to tell if it is an authentic thai restaurant is to try out their dessert. In particular, mango and sticky rice with coconut sauce...do they have that?]]>

Sounds really good - finding quality thai can be tough. Let's hope this place actually sticks around, since that particular location has revolving door syndrome!

(And I'm really sorry about your photoblog. sniff. That hurts.)]]>
