I don't actually begrudge the photogoon for doing his job. Everyone has to eat. It just made it more fun to cat-n-mouse with the guy. ]]>

One crew minder dick tried to tell me i couldn't shoot the other night. I laughed at him and told him to try and stop me shooting from a public street. Never saw anyone with umbrellas, but i also was only there in the early evening for setups, not when they were shooting scenes.]]>

They are also set up in Morningside Park in the former Scarborough. It has been quite comical seeing overturned army vehicles scattered along the bike trail.

A friend of mine who's an extra on the set told me there was an accident during filming on Tuesday (probably not on the Yonge/Gerard part of the set, but still)....

Essentially, a Hum Vee was doing a fast drive by on the grass while a helicopter was filming overhead. On the second take, the thing flipped over on its roof. There was a guy playing a "gunner" who was sticking out of the roof from the waist up. Fortunately he got inside just as it was flipping over. No one was hurt, but if that guy hadn't got in when he did, he would have been killed.

I wish I were there with my camera at the time. Apparently it was all captured on film. They'll likely use the footage in the movie.]]>

I live just up the street from all the shooting activity.

I don't think I've ever experienced such rudeness from any previous crew. Some of these people think that Yonge and Gerrard are their personal satrapy. The crowd controllers are not the most polite people.

This is one group I'll be happy to see gone.]]>

Ah yes, the umbrella... on Monday I was the lone SLR amongst a group of point-and-shoots. Needless to say I was screwed until I moved over to the street.

When I was there they only had an umbrella on the NE corner of Y & Gerrard as it was the only place that you could see past the bus.

Bonus points if you can get the hulk "stand-in" - a giant cross shaped thing with three green tennis balls & LEDs on it. ]]>

Had you told me personally I might've stopped by, but my guess is that any photog who hasn't yet snapped some shots will by tomorrow. Thanks for ruining it for me, Sean. Eye H8 U, in the ear.]]>
