The movie was brilliant, storyline and screenplay were great. The only complaint I have about it is regarding Rupinder Nagra's accent. He seemed to be struggling with his hindi. Perhaps the directors should have chosen an actor with a better grasp of rickshaw-wallah type accent.]]>

I attended the screening of "Amal" last night, and was incredibly impressed by this director's first time feature film. Rupinder Nagra's portrayal of the humble rickshawallah was both convincing and poignant. The film was witty and humorous in all the right places, and also accurately depicted India?s varied social classes, from the harsh realities of India?s poorest to the opulent wealth of the most privileged in society. I cannot imagine the obstacles the makers of this film had to overcome, but the result was well worth it. Kudos to the cast & crew! I wholeheartedly recommend this film to anyone. Definitely hope this film will be screened soon in India.
