I agree with most comments that Toronto has not yet figured out the Burrito. I lived in Denver (home of Chipotle) for many years and a quality burrito is something I really miss. Here's hoping they get it figured out. Looks like there's a new burrito place going in on Yonge St near Dundas. Any news?

We've had burritos from Big Fat Burrito quite a few times and enjoyed them, BUT, I bought two chicken burritos last night. My wife's was fine but mine tasted like it had VOMIT in it. Literally. VOMIT is fairly unmistakable. I gagged. I'm disgusted and I'm contacting the Toronto Health Department about it.

The thing about Burrito Boyz is that it wasn't created to imitate the mission style burritos. It was created by a bunch of single guys who cooked together to save cash and time. After a trip to Mexico it was a done deal. If it's disappointing because it doesn't resemble something else, it's probably because it wasn't supposed to.

I keep going back here. Burrito Boyz is now out of the rotation and it's all about Big Fat (for their yam burrito) and Quesada (for their veggie). And Big Fat has improved their guacamole as it no longer is mixed with sour cream.

La Taqueria is the best...on 24th and Mission...i sooooo miss their grilled wrapped burritos which you have to mention because it's not on the menu. and my all time favorite veggie tacos made from scratch with lots of extra guacamole...
ohhh so home sick....
if anyone knows of a place like that here in Toronto...pleaze....let me know...

this is a good burrito place, in fact one of the better fast food restaurants you can find in the city...
definitely beats the street-meat-dont-know-what-the-heck-it-is "hotdogs" or mc's.

and i tried all the four flavours, and even though yam's my favourite, veggie didnt make me nauseous at all.

My g/f and i actually had a pretty terrible experience, after eating the veggie burritos both of us got pretty sick. We still can't figure out what it could have been, but after telling the story to our neighbour she concurred that some of her friends also got rather nauseous from the veggie. My poor g/f felt like her insides turned to Acid.

As for S.F. we just returned from there and now feel bitter and broken hearted about toronto's lack of real burritos.

Not to sound like a burrito snob, but this city hasn't figured it out yet. I moved here from SF 12 years ago, and I have yet to find an authentic burrito place.

Sure, the best ones are in California (actually the BEST ones are in Baja, CA but that's a hard place to get to)...but why doesn't someone just admit that there is already a good version out there and just copy it?

i've been on the hunt for a mission-style burrito since moving back to canada (after having lived for 8 years in san francisco). i haven't tried any of the newer burrito places in TO yet (burrito boyz, big fat, etc), so your review is very helpful.

when i visited sf last year, i had a few burritos and paid closer attention to the taste. alas, i don't know much about cooking, so i don't know if i gained any useful info... but i think there might be something about the rice....
