Last year I was in the parade and by the time I got to the park it was so crowded that it was senseless to even try to be involved in any way. Totally sardined. It's no surprise that people camped out at hte park to ensure being in the action after the parade. The festival has outgrown the location.

Perhaps organizers should consider marching through Kensington and ending the parade elsewhere? Perhaps Alexadra, Grange, or even Queens Park would be better suited?]]>

Love this event, love it even more when it's cold enough to thin out the crowds slightly and it actually feels like winter, but you can't have everything. I'm a little disappointed with the people who camped out in the park and missed the parade, strikes me as kinda missing the whole point. Oh well.]]>

Ian - there's a closeup photo of that red-eyed monster dude (being led by his ghostly "captor") in my Flickr set that is linked in the story above.

He was pretty much my favourite too, along with the huge white feathered things on stilts. Awesome night.]]>

He's in one of my videos for youtube, but, unfortunately, uploading darkened the clip somehow so dark, that all you can make out in the video is his eyes. I mean ALLLL you can make out.]]>

I wanna see a picture of that crazy guy in black that was walking around the bonfire on a leash . . . He had bicycle lights for eyes and was wearing the best costume I'd seen in years...]]>
