I have to say that I was impressed with VIA's internet stability, was even able to use VPN (albeit slowly).  As for the price, I did have the offer of a free hour from the VIA Preference programme but once it was up I had no hesitation in signing up for a day pass for the remainder of my return trip between Toronto and Waterloo.

The comparison with internet cafes who work off a cheap cable or DSL connection is, IMHO, bogus compared to the running cost of maintaining a connection using satellite or GPRS/EVDO.]]>
