Nice pics!
Sadly, I hadn't been back to that area for awhile and missed getting into some of the other motels. I was only able to get some pics from the old Shore Breeze Motel.

But, are any of these close enough to the downtown core of Toronto so that people can get to it in a few minutes? Having to take a bus to Kennedy subway station isn't something I'd want to do if I were visiting Toronto, and at least, these places let you do that. What will the crappy condo being built compare to this? Other than the row of budget priced hotels down Jarvis, the Comfort Inn near Yonge and Charles, the Motel 8 at 222 Spadina, there's not much for a visitor without a lot of money in Toronto.]]>

The vintage view of the strip (w/the Labatts truck) is 1961, not 1951--you can tell by the make of the cars. (And it's interesting to compare that shot w/the Rainbow Motel postcard: by 1961, the sign was more explicitly advertising "TV" in the roundel.)]]>

Loved that motel strip and thank you for the cool post. Here are some shots from Caza Mendoza and the Beach Motel last January:
