Had admired Mitzi's from afar for quite some time before finally arriving when the tables outside weren't packed. I was a big fan of Mitiz's Sister so I figured the original should be just as (if not better).

I was very disappointed. The home fries were cold and the food was generally bland. I felt as if my money and my time was ill spent.

I won't go back. I'll stick with the better sister instead.]]>

My family and I have been going to Mitzi's for years. We love the food and find the portions wonderful. I rarely finish my dish. Having small children now, we go when it opens to avoid line-ups (it is very popular and not very large). The items one the menu are basically the same, but each visit provides a completely different twist on them. We love this aspect. We constantly try to figure out what they've done and replicate it at home. It is a bit pricey, so going there is thought of as a treat. ]]>

I want to like this place, i do! i live just down the street so it could be so convenient. i've given up. Each time I've been, the food was very over-cooked and cold. The staff have been unfriendly (i gather from being overwhelmed) and the wait was far too long.]]>

This weekend was my first trip to Mitzi's. I have become a big fan of Mitzi's Sister, so expectations were high. The food was fine (if not slightly pricey), but the service was horrible. We didn't get served for a long time and then it took about 45minutes to get the food. There was no apology for the wait or acknowledgement that this out of the ordinary. My boyfriend had a view of the plating area and noticed that their process was pretty inefficient. So in the glory that is west-side brunch this will be my last visit to Mitzi's.]]>

Mitzi's brunch is my favourite in the city. Yes, they have a smallish menu, but there is definitely enough variety. They always have different types of omelettes, poached eggs, frittata, french toast, pancakes and yougurt and granola. On weekdays they also have sandwiches. I always get the pancakes. They are so good! You get one huge oatmeal buttermilk pancake with different toppings depending on the week (such as mango lime, raspberry with lemon ricotta, chocolate hazelnut or lemon sauce with merguine). My boyfriend always gets the eggs and they always have interesting combinations.
I would take the fresh, always changing menu at Mitzi's over a place with 50 medicore options any day.]]>

I find the real alure of Mitzi's is in going more than once. The "options" are different each time and they are quite creative. After having Boursin scrambled eggs once, I now keep that creamy French herbed and garlic cheese at home for when my non-lactose-intolerant friends come over for brunch.]]>

Every restaurant review you write always includes the phrase "I opted for blank..." opted, opted, opted. Try another word - like ordered, chose, picked, got, had....just sick of the same boring writing. Liven it up BRO.]]>
