Sushi D is awful.

Terrible, terrible service. Went there the other night and the server made a mistake on the bill. I didn't notice and paid my full tab. I was outside, already paid, and i get a call from my friend. They had held him hostage until I returned to pay the $7.00. I told them they made a mistake and yet continued to hold my friend and TEN others hostage inside the restaurant. They physically held my friend inside (who had paid his bill in FULL as well) until I had to pay...in the middle of the cold street.

This was a mistake on THEIR part and yet I found myself and my friends all had to be inconvenienced and embarrassed. They didn't even apologize. They just took their money. It was totally unacceptable. AVOID at any cost. ]]>

I've been to almost all of these places and none of them can compare to Sushi One on Yonge and Sheppard. Sushi One has by far the freshest sushi in town. Every time we order a hot dish, everything comes out hot to the point we have to wait till it cools down a bit. Prices are reasonably cheap as well, $12.99 for lunch. Trust me, Sushi One should be number one on this list!]]>

With any "best of" list you can bet some less deserving choices got up-voted onto the list. But you can also bet quite a few negative comments are by people who have an angle on slagging a place, whether because they are connected with another place or they just like to stir the pot.

It's common sense to be suspicious online and get at least one review of a place from someone you know before you go (or decide not to go). ]]>

Surprised at the popularity of Aji Sai. Visited there for the first time after seeing BlogTO post about AYCE sushi in the past and didn't find it too great. Quality of the sushi was poor, prep was poor, service was drawn out and a little rude. I understand that AYCE establishments are usually quite busy but that's no excuse for a lack of concern towards the customer. I found Sushi D on College significantly better on all accounts; would be an appropriate add-on to this list as opposed to Aji Sai.]]>

Yang's (Markham) is just about the worst AYCE sushi place I've been to - both service & food-wise. From personal experience, I can say that both their non-busy weekdays AND their busy weekends have horrible service. It just sucks that I actually liked them a couple of years ago. *Something* must've changed in the past 12 months for them to go downhill. None of my friends & family have had good experiences there in the past year.

Ten-Ichi, on the other hand, is a restaurant I always rave about. Ever since their renovations, waits haven't been so long on evenings/weekends. Their staff are incredible and the manager (Alex) is always so accommodating. My friends & family enjoy Ten-Ichi for their food and atmosphere and none of us has had any negative experience from the years we've been there.]]>
