I saw "HarperGirl Does Canada" the other night. Amazing show. It's funny and sassy and even touching. Combining politics and dating in a hilarious take on Harper and 21st century media. I recommend it highly. This unique show is what the Fringe is all about for me.

If anyone wants to catch a fun and really touching comedy/drama, we're giving away FREE tickets to "EVER" at the Tarragon Mainspace for Fri July 3 at 7pm, and Sat July 4 at 11pm. Just email producer@everplay.ca and the first 25 people to respond will get a free ticket.

The toughest part of growing up is learning to say goodbye. "Ever" is a comedy-drama set under the stars about Em, a budding astronomer who's off to study in Toronto. She has one last summer in Sioux Lookout with her best friend Dave. As they say goodbye, they face the tragic past that brought them together, dream of what their futures hold, and understand each other for the first time.

I saw 'It's Just a Phase' last night...HILARIOUS. It is about a girl whose friends and family won't accept that she is a lesbian; not her metro sexual father, her butch sister, her crazy/lovable Italian mother, or the "Fruit Flies" that keep following her around. This play is filled with catchy songs, dancing fairies and outrageous dialogue but is completely grounded by the underlying serious message that love happens in various ways, between people of all colours, sexes and backgrounds. A must see!

I saw "I Am Not Neil Young" last night at Holy Joes The Big Bop. Frank Wilks shares his memories playing with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame great's, many no longer with us. This show is filled with memories of the 60's and 70's. This is much more than a Buffalo Springfield tribute. As an added surprise bonus, Frank played an intimate concert after the show. Don't miss this one. Cheers, Brian

one of the most promising plays in this years fringe festival is Donny's Day written and directed by David Finley (the charming Dora Award winning playwright that also wrote for many beloved cartoons)
Someone's bad day has never provided so many laughs.
