As a person who works with investing. Green is overrated and overhyped. Why? Because Government policy changes all the time and people invested in green will lose their investments to a country exporting the same product at a cheaper price (because guess what? they copied you).

And will the government move? Unless you plan on having an initiative for donating to political parties, No.

What is the point anyway? When all these self-entitled union workers from the CAW are going to poach on your initiative? Know what? Other than government policy, unions killed initiatives.

As a start to any initiative, I suggest Mexico, Vietnam and China. You could make a killing exporting green technology there without taxes, unions or government policy.]]>

Thanks for linking to the counter-argument by Mr. Solomon. I think it could be argued that green jobs are twice as efficient as older, traditional jobs. Besides, it's hardly a mature market so some upfront investment must be expected. The Toronto Greenhouse idea is a great one and more newer industries should be doing the same thing!
