I read your blog about dinner with a stranger and loved the idea. Very weirdly I was commuting to work this morning reading the free London newspaper and they featured an interview with Jim Haynes. He has been hosting dinner parties for strangers in his house in Paris for years and was obviously a massive advocate. There was then a 2 page spread on how to host dinner parties with strangers, what to prepare/cook etc.. I really want to start doing this myself but am worried about giving out my address etc so maybe I should be the stranger?!

thanks

I'm a journalism student at the University of Western Ontario. I love this idea and I'm looking to do a documentary on it.
If anyone is planning to take on the role of "The Stranger" and wants to help me out, please e-mail me at alexispbrown@gmail.com

Great article, Joshua.]]>

This is a great idea and I hope to hear more about it. I would definitely host, I love to cook and like meeting new people. I bet a lot of people would go for this. Especially if the host doesn't necessarily have to be "interesting." ]]>

Josh,

Fantastic! Thanks for the interview and great article on our Dinner with a Stranger! Kudos too to Mark Shouldice (aka The Stranger) for thinking of this cool fundraising idea.

Now let's see if any BlogTO readers pick up the ball and run with this "totally random, far-out idea"! Let me know if you do! It might inspire another visual essay.
