No, I asked Ben this question too-its not the same McNally-although the other McNally's are now opening a store in Don Mills sometime soon. Ben deserves our support because he is one of those rare booksellers who does his research and knows his clients, so that you always end up going in his store for one book and coming out with two or three! His is the most interesting book selection in the city!]]>

is this the same McNally family of the one in Winnipeg? and the same origins of McNally Jackson in NYC?

Independent bookstores, especially one that specializes in design and art and niche subjects need more exposure in Toronto. With the closing of Mirvish soon, and recent close of Ballenford, the city needs to step up in providing the next wave of cultural shops like these. Me thinks. ]]>

Hurrah for Ben McNally, who exemplifies what independent bookselling is all about. And while it may be cheaper to buy online and to hit up chain stores for deep discounts, it is an entirely different and rewarding experience to walk into a store like his. It's the Church of Book Lovers. (As is Pages and Nicholas Hoare).]]>
