I will add the obligatory comment that the term "deadpool" is horribly misused in these recurring stories.]]>

This is absolutely the worst middle eastern cuisine possible. I found it ironic the name was "Yummi's" really. For real Middle Eastern food visit Tabule just a few blocks down between Eglinton and Davisville.]]>

the rose just reopened with new owners and the pints are excellent. some renovations were done to brighten up the place and the bathrooms are all cleaned up. i think most of the work was done in the kitchen so definitely check out the food. very yummy pad thai.]]>

I live in the nieghbourhood and was amazed how long it lasted considering it is one of our city's "doomed locations". It never really looked very Yummi to me.

The location just East of Yonge on the north side of Eglinton is slowly becoming another doomed location with Boston Pizza opening in place of the one before that...which was "originally" The old Daily Planet.]]>

I popped in there when I moved to the area years ago and found shitty looking food and a sick looking staff. The place was always 1/4 full at best (as other posters have said). I was always wondering how they stay in business... I guess they don't anymore!

Good call on the bakery. Bayview has 3 and Yonge and Eg has none! Or how about a pub that doesn't suck. The Rose is a little dodgy and the scottish pub closer to Eg is always full. There is no nice place to grab a pint at Yonge and Eg. Given it's nick-name I always thought that was odd. Lots of coffee shops, restaurants but no good bars.]]>

I just noticed this walking by on my way home, as well. I never went there (meant to, though)...judging by the comments above, maybe that was a good thing. It'll be interesting to see what replaces it. This area really needs a fantastic bakery--surprisingly, there are NONE on this stretch of Yonge.]]>

When they first started, they were incredible. The 'main guy', the chef, was *always* there, we used to tease him that he needed a home life. He was a very good line cook, we were regulars, and every single meal we had there was precisely the same - fresh and tasty. The guy was a real pro. Then suddenly, he was gone, replaced by a seemingly larger staff, but younger. Suddenly the roasted pine nuts on the rice were replaced by frozen vegetables tossed in. I started getting inconsistently cooked meat. It got so bad, we stopped going. Truly, I think that's what killed it.]]>

I always found their food to be horrible. I went twice and never returned. The oil they cooked in was usually rancid and the food was crap. Not surprised they went under - they did better than the last 3 restaurants in this spot did - but they were always only 1/2 or 1/4 full.]]>
