I was talking to someone at Lil' Baci and it seems that the owners of Kubo sold the place. Apparently they had a number of other projects on the go and couldn't devote the time necessary to Kubo.

Coming in March (or so the sign says) is an Irish pub called the Roy. (www.theroy.ca)]]>

Does this mean L'il Baci (next door) will be open all day? I never understood why they had two different restaurants for different times of day.

Good riddance on Kuboradio though. The two or three times I went the service was pretty bad. Half of their menu is smothered in cilantro (which I hate), and at our company Christmas party a few years ago they ruined the evening for the majority of people by screwing up the steaks, over-peppering them until your mouth went numb.]]>

guys, "closed for renovations" = closed for good.

(Besides the shame of failure, one reason for the reno line is that many commerical leases do not allow businesses to be closed on non-holidays, except for repairs and renovations. So, if you close for renovations, you are still abiding by the lease, and it gives you a few extra days to get everything of value out of the store before the landlord changes the locks. Not saying that this is happening here, but its a common scenario.)]]>

If they are reopening, it doesn't seem very accurate to say they're in the dead pool.]]>

Good! I've never experienced worse service in my life than at that place, nevermind that the bartender was actually drunk.
