I have just moved in to the area and love it. This is a real neighbourhood and offers everything that one would need within a short hop, skip and a jump. Everything except a good local watering hole. Something nicer than Legends or Wise Guys. Other than that, the hood is spot on. And look out - now with the Wychwood Barns open, it's going to change, quickly.]]>

That part of St Clair sucks. Sorry to be blunt. Compared to other areas of the city that have seen development and change, St Clair remains looking ugly, tired and bored. Except for the Shoppers which is convenient, the Loblaws and the eye sore Pizza Pizza and Tim Hortons, the whole area looks like an ugly stretch of Scarborough Strip Mall. In area so close to downtown, it's a shame there is no "cool stuff". Sure, there's the odd little place. I've lived in this area for 10 yrs and nothing much has changed. There's little pedestrian traffic, and alot of crummy dollar stores. I'd loveto be able to spend a friday evening in my neighbourhood, but instead I take my dollars to the annex, college or queen...

The lack of water pressure problem exists in many places along St Clair, west of Bathurst. It's an older area that never had many city upgrades.

The pipes from the main line are generally too small and then some become partially blocked. The city used to have a program where they pay to upgrade a 3/4" line to your property line and then you pay the rest of the way. It's not on their website now, not sure what that means.

The program had a waittime/backlog of about a year after you applied. We upgraded ours to a 1" pipe. What a difference! Rachel could contact the city for details. Not sure whether the landlord would want to pay for the upgrade though.]]>
