Great preview post - like everyone else, I am curious to see which films emerge as the buzz-movies from TIFF. We assembled a post with all the films we have behind the scenes content from including exclusive clips and interviews from Joe Dante's 'The Hole 3D,' 'Whip It" and many more.

The festival used to be about the films; now, it's about how many celebrities they can truck in.

I had the same experience as Bonnie wrote about, above. Have been going every year since 2003, buying two ten ticket books and usually have a blast. This year, the location was terrible, the programs were sold on the street by volunteers with cash boxes, as if it was a church bake sale. TIFF brings millions of dollars into the city every year and they can't do better than cash only from folding tables on Dundas?

Seems like they're more interested in paying for their new Lightbox building and skimping for that. This is also the first year that the 'democratic' advance ticket lottery wasn't so 'democratic'. Anyone who was a donor and gave at least $250 had their choices processed before the rest of us. So I spent $335 and wasted hours in line-ups and would still have to pay another $250 to ensure my ticket choices? I didn't, so I'm left with 11 out of 20 ticket choices and stuck with a bunch of vouchers. Guess like I'll be in a few more line-ups over the next week so they don't go to waste.

I keep hearing that more tickets could be made available on the day of the screening, but if that's the case, why didn't I get my choices? How many are being reserved for corporate sponsors and advertisers, who'll only show up for the possibility of mingling with a celebrity.

I still can't believe I didn't get a ticket for the Sunday 6:30 screening of 'The Ghost', which apparently sold out the AMC 4. Is there a Brad Pitt cameo I'm unaware of? Maybe people confused it with the Patrick Swayze movie?

I'm 10 for 10 as well and I'm a first time package buyer!

I had no idea I had to wait soo long just to pick up my tickets. Does anyone know if there's a deadline to pick your tickets or can I just wait on the day of my first movie and pick them up then?

I'm 10 for 10 as well, although I have been having second thoughts about The Brothers Bloom all weekend and this post might be enough to get me to trade my ticket in for Synecdoche, New York, or something completely different.
But judging from what I have been hearing about wait times, I may be better off with The Brothers Bloom and a spare myself an extra 2 hours in line.

I am not at all impressed with the Toronto Life set-up this year. It's no fault of the volunteers, who are great as usual, but the whole set-up is confusing and poorly run. It doesn't seem as organized as it was at College Park, or even when it was at Cumberland Terrace.

I waited for two hours in line yesterday just to *pick up* my tickets. (And another two hours to make a few exchanges, but that was to be expected.)

I've been attending the festival for 20 years, and I don't remember waiting that long to pick up tickets. The last few years I waited maybe 10, 15 minutes, if that.

There didn't appear to be enough volunteer/staff at the pick-up table. And my heart went out to them - they were standing in the broiling sun for hours, with no shade.

This was very poorly planned. I don't know whether it was the new location (Toronto Life Square vs. College Park) or more ticket buyers (which was the explanation one of the volunteers gave me). For a world class festival, it wasn't impressive.

It's great to hear excitement over Canadian film - I'm really looking forward to both Toronto Stories and One Week.

I'm glad you ended up with 10 tickets, the exchange process is a real long wait. I lucked out this year and was in Box 10 and got all 45 of my picks - yay! I'm not going anywhere near the box office today (Labour Day). I hope it's not that crazy tomorrow.
