You know, it is what it is. At the end of the day they brought in live acts and supported the music scene.

V-fest early sept should be a good time. The Bacardi B live tent inside the festival just announced their line-up...Moby, Deadmau5, Flosstradamus, Lee Burridge, Switch, Sebastian.

Effin sick!]]>

Rogers (Ted Rogers) is such a scoundrel,a modern day scrooge. I will not support him or anything he does. This doesn't regard the artists in anyway what so ever. I just totally dislike Rogers. I will not go to his "picnic" ever.

Rogers = NWO illuminati.]]>

I love how some of the commentators make sport of all the corporate sponsorship, but I wonder sometimes if they forget how far back in time this policy goes? Most of history's major social gatherings were far too costly for most individuals to cover themselves.
Ergo, with out some form of sponsorship or patronage the Roman circus could not have existed.
Without the guilds, some of the great fairs and markets would never have taken place, or the playhouses in London.
Early 2Oth Century sports would not have had such great venues as Wrigley Stadium, Copp's Coliseum.
So please. Get over it, or just plain don't go. Stop complaining. It's these sponsors that help defer the cost some, and allow some of the tedium of life to be displaced, even if but for a while.
How about next time, thanking them instead for helping allow you to have such a great day.]]>

Hey Roger, great picnic! Haha I mean great post. Thumbs up to the way you focused on the punters more than the music, which we've seen reviews of 500 million times.

The 2 year old liked Animal Collective??? Wow. Maybe I have to be a toddler to appreciate their music!]]>

Don't listen too much to the naysayers about the corporate sponsorship. I accept it for having brought an event like Rogers Picnic to reality. I do already have a Rogers cell phone plan (which just recently expired) but the Rogers Picnic isn't necessarily making me want out to rush out and renew my contract with Rogers (the rates suck in my opinion). Need to mention that your 'family' perspective review on the Rogers Picnic was wonderful.]]>

Corporate sponsorship/advertising of large-scale events is a reality. It's easy enough (for me, anyway) to have a great time at Rogers picnic (it's an awesome event), without having to get all Debbie Downer about the marketing invovled.]]>
