Anyone know who won the 2009 Ribfest at Toronto?

My favourite was Kentucky last year's winner however Pistol Pete's were a close second!]]>

We went on Sunday, sampled 8 or 9 of the ribbers, I was not hugely impressed by any of them although a couple were at least OK, the best sauce was from a new ribber called IIRC Pistol Petes, it was more of a Carolina style vinegar and mustard sauce, unfortunately the ribs it was on were kinda meh, they had not been cooked long enough to be properly tender. The best overall we tried was the Harley sponsored one, nice tangy sauce, Bad Wolf was also OK.

There were rides.

RibFest is still happening (opens tonight) and I doubt there will be any significant effect. Etobicoke still has garbage collection (they're a private contract, apparently) and the grass hasn't had much time to get long and unruly in the park... plus people will stamp it down... so I'd say it's rib gluttony as usual!]]>

Loved the ribfest. If you missed this one and are looking for more, I made a list and calendar with all the ones I could find in Ontario: http://icantbelieveimbackintoronto.blogspot.com/2008/06/ontario-ribfests-2008.html]]>

I'm actually quite surprised how certain religions really stick to their guns when it comes to food based bans. I've had Jewish and Muslim friends who don't practice their religion and even go as far to break several cardinal rules. However, despite dooming themselves to Hell in their respective religions, they still stay away from the Pork.]]>

Kosher Boy-
If being kosher 'sucks' then don't adhere to it's rules. What's the point? Do you even believe in its value?]]>
